Bing Bong route at a glance
| Step | Current route | Do not assume |
|---|---|---|
| Destination | Island 3 · Desert | A separate secret island or late-game volcano trigger |
| Purchase | Coconut from the central palm-tree group | That every palm tree sells one |
| Reported price | $350 in the current Steam thread | That the price can never change in a later patch |
| Action | Equip Coconut as bait and cast on Island 3 | A published fixed percentage or guaranteed cast count |
| After the bite | Land the catch and prepare for combat | That the Easter egg is harmless because it begins as a fishing interaction |
This is a separate Easter egg route, not another row in the normal Standard Lure ladder. Save enough money for the Coconut and for any ammunition or healing you need before starting the cast.

Find and buy the Coconut
- Reach Island 3. Complete the earlier story route so the Desert island and its central area are available normally.
- Move inland toward the palm-tree group. The current discovery thread points to trees near the center, including a visibly slanted palm.
- Walk close enough to read each interaction. Do not identify the seller from tree shape alone; the purchase prompt is the useful signal.
- Keep at least $350 available. That is the community-reported price on August 27. If your current build displays another price, follow the live prompt.
- Confirm the Coconut enters your usable bait inventory. Do not cast with the previously equipped Standard Lure by habit.
Cast with the Coconut, then prepare to fight
Equip the Coconut and cast on Island 3. The first Steam discovery report warns that Bing Bong has substantial health and is deadly, so treat the cast as a boss-like commitment even though no official health value is available.
- Buy ammunition and healing before spending the Coconut.
- Choose a fishing position with open movement space instead of a tight palm-tree pocket.
- Keep a controllable ranged weapon ready for the moment the catch reaches land.
- In co-op, agree who may spend the shared balance before buying the Coconut or upgrades.
- Save through the game menu before the attempt if replacing the bait would be expensive.
The available reports do not establish an exact health total, one mandatory weapon or a no-risk terrain exploit. Use the same basic rule as other dangerous catches: create distance before healing, keep the target visible and spend ammunition during controlled windows.
If Bing Bong does not appear
| What happened | Check | Next test |
|---|---|---|
| A normal Island 3 fish bites | Coconut may not be the active bait | Reopen equipment, select Coconut and make one clean cast |
| No bite at all | Rod input may be the problem | Use the normal reel control test in the fish-not-biting guide |
| Coconut is missing before the cast | Purchase or save state did not persist | Check the central tree prompt and current balance before buying again |
| Correct Coconut setup produces a dry streak | No public guarantee sets the next cast | Repeat controlled casts and record the current version rather than changing islands |
Do not substitute an ordinary coconut-shaped prop, Standard Lure or boss bait because one attempt failed. If the correct bait repeatedly produces an unexpected result, capture the active bait slot, island label and game version for a useful report.
What this route does—and does not establish
Bing Bong is documented as an Easter egg catch. The current Steam achievement list does not name a dedicated Bing Bong achievement, and the available discovery sources do not establish whether it is required for Collector or Fishipedia. Use the live Tab encyclopedia for completion decisions rather than marking an unsupported requirement here.
