Drip Voxelfish setup
| Field | Use | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Island | Island 4 · Rocks | Island 5 attempts in the current thread did not produce ordinary Voxelfish |
| Rod | Fishing Rod | The creature is listed in the normal fishing pool, not as a placed boss trigger |
| Lure | Professional Lure | No separate Drip lure is documented |
| Completion action | Land and kill the Drip variant, then check Tab | Seeing an ordinary Voxelfish does not fill the Drip slot |
Current cross-referenced lure tables place Voxelfish in the Professional Lure pool with Parrotfish, Bass, Halibut, Eel, Tigerfish, Flying Fish, Sengarat and Red Snapper. That means a long sequence of other catches can still come from the correct setup.

Does Drip Voxelfish actually exist?
The strongest current community thread begins with a player who had every other Drip entry and spent about five hours using the Professional Lure on Island 4. One reply says they had caught one, while later replies describe ordinary Voxelfish on Island 4 but no Drip variant and call it their last missing fish.
A separate Steam thread asks whether the creature is bugged after another long Professional Lure dry streak. Those reports support the search problem, but they do not establish a universal bug or a fixed rarity. Use the in-game Tab encyclopedia as the final completion record for your build.
A controlled Drip Voxelfish hunt loop
- Open Tab first. Confirm that Voxelfish is the missing Drip entry rather than an ordinary Collector entry or a similarly named fish.
- Move to Island 4. Use the Rocks stage where current fish tables place the normal Voxelfish pool.
- Equip the Fishing Rod and Professional Lure. Check the active slot before every batch; do not rely on what was equipped before a reload.
- Cast and reel normally. Read the creature name before cancelling or releasing anything. A fast release habit can discard the unusual name you were waiting for.
- Use ordinary Voxelfish as a setup signal. Catching one shows that your current pool can reach the right creature; it does not improve or reset a published Drip counter.
- Land and kill the Drip version. Then reopen Tab and confirm the Fishipedia slot recorded the result before spending the creature at a Reel of Fortune.
If you have fished for hours with no Drip
| What you observe | Likely branch | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Ordinary Voxelfish appears among Island 4 catches | The island and lure can reach the normal pool | Continue the pool; do not invent a new trigger from the dry streak alone |
| No ordinary Voxelfish appears at all | Wrong island, wrong active lure, stale equipment state or an unusual session problem | Re-equip Professional Lure, make one clean solo test and record the current build |
| Rainbow-named Voxelfish was killed but Tab remains empty | Registration or save-state problem | Capture the name, Tab screen and version before repeating the kill |
| Only the Drip slot remains after many ordinary Voxelfish | Long variant dry streak | Take breaks and track attempts; no public pity threshold tells you when the next one must appear |
Restarting can clear a stale equipment or session state, but it is not a documented rarity boost. Likewise, changing difficulty affects creature health and damage; Patch 1.0.9 does not say it changes Drip frequency.
Make sure Fishipedia records it
- Read the rainbow-style name before deciding it is the Drip variant.
- Complete the kill and open Tab to check the exact Voxelfish slot.
- Use the fish and lure tracker only as a personal checklist; the in-game encyclopedia is the completion authority.
- If the slot records correctly, save through the game menu before leaving the session.
- If you want a cosmetic roll, confirm the entry first and then use the Reel of Fortune guide.
Useful report checklist
- Current game version.
- Solo, host or joined co-op session.
- Island label, rod and active lure.
- Whether ordinary Voxelfish appeared in the same session.
- Approximate attempts and elapsed hunt time.
- Whether a rainbow name appeared and whether the kill registered in Tab.
