How to Find 3 Leeches in How to Fish — Giant Piranha Quest

Leech location

The leeches are ground pickups on the second island. They are not fish you hook and they are not boss drops. Current walkthrough evidence shows the objective moving from 0/3 to 3/3 before the quest giver returns the Modified Leech used for the Giant Piranha.

Because the models are small and the island is visually busy, lower your view toward the ground, walk the usable paths and check the edges around vegetation, structures and the NPC’s area. Search systematically; running the same center path can miss objects near the perimeter.

A clean collection route

1. Activate the farmer’s request. Talk to the NPC before collecting so the objective and item count are clear.
2. Start at the NPC and sweep outward. Walk one full perimeter instead of zig-zagging randomly.
3. Scan the ground near props and vegetation. Keep the camera low enough to distinguish small pickups.
4. Check your count after each pickup. Stop at 3/3. Keep the collected items until the quest giver accepts them.
5. Return directly to the lady by the lake. Give her all three and keep the Modified Leech she returns.

What if the objective stops below 3/3?

First, complete one slow perimeter sweep and confirm the last pickup is not hidden. If the count still stops below three, treat it as a session or spawn problem rather than an undiscovered fishing mechanic. Protect the leeches already collected and check current Steam discussions or developer announcements before spending another long loop on the same route.

You can try restarting a session if you are comfortable doing so, but this page does not present that as a guaranteed solution. A useful bug report should include whether you are in solo or co-op, how many leeches appeared, whether the quest was active before entering the island and whether any player already collected one.

No leeches spawning after dying to the boss?

An August 21 player reported that leeches disappeared after a failed Island 2 boss attempt. In that discussion, one player found that loading the last save restored them. Another said completing the NPC dialogue and restarting did not help. These are older community reports, not a confirmed Patch 1.0.12 fix.

1. Check what changed. Did leeches appear before the boss attempt, and is the quest still active? Compare an entirely empty area with a single missing pickup.
2. Finish the quest giver’s dialogue. Check whether you already have the Modified Leech before searching for another set.
3. Preserve the current data before a reload. Follow the save backup steps, then try loading the last save once. Loading can discard progress since that save; no built-in older-save picker is established.
4. If nothing changes, record the failure. Include solo/co-op mode, quest count, whether you died, and the reload result. Avoid repeating long searches or deleting the campaign.

What not to do

• Do not search real-world water or fishing spots; these are world pickups in the Dazed Games title.
• Do not follow guides for Roblox Fisch or Fish It—their leech mechanics are unrelated.
• Do not assume repeatedly sailing away forces a respawn; current evidence does not establish that reset.
• Do not keep searching for a fourth or fifth leech after the objective reads 3/3.
