How to Fish Skins: Checklist & Island Drop Chances

Search weapon, rod and boat skins, compare normal-spin chances by island, and keep a personal collection checklist.

Quick answer Find the skin for your equipment, compare the island, then mark what you own. The community catalog contains 127 entries: 114 normal-spin rewards, 9 defaults and 4 outside normal drops. Chances are community estimates from September 5, not official Dazed Games odds.

1.1.0 coverage: the official update adds an outfit, but this equipment table remains the September 5 community snapshot. It does not catalog the new outfit or verify the Lucky Bone effect. Its normal-spin percentages must not be treated as measured post-update or bone-boosted odds. Existing checkmarks are preserved.

Find a skin

Search by equipment, appearance or rarity. With all islands selected, each row shows the highest listed chance and the matching islands. Choose one island to see only its normal rewards. Default and unavailable entries remain searchable with “Compare all islands” selected.

The names and per-spin percentages follow yueue’s September 5 community catalog. Percentages describe normal spins in that snapshot, with rounding to four decimal places; later game changes can alter them.

Checkmarks stay in this browser. They do not change your Steam inventory.

Choose the island before you spin

Each island has a different equipment pool. A skin with no normal drop on your current island cannot be targeted there in this table. Use the island filter before spending a Drip, then follow the Reel of Fortune steps to identify and equip the reward.

SMG Rainbow: Island 3 or Island 4?

The community table gives SMG Rainbow a 0.6667% normal-spin chance on Island 3 and 0.8333% on Island 4. Island 4 is the higher listed chance for that exact skin; the other islands have no normal SMG Rainbow drop. These are chances for each spin, not a promise that a certain number of attempts will succeed.

Does every weapon have a Rainbow skin?

The catalog contains seven skins named Rainbow: Assault Rifle, Boat, Brass Knuckles, Knife, Shotgun, SMG and Sniper Rifle. Pistol and Fishing Rod have no entry with that name. Knife Rainbow is Rare; the other six are Legendary. For GOLD GOLD GOLD, check the reward’s rarity rather than assuming the word Rainbow means Legendary.

Defaults and skins outside normal drops

The 127-entry count includes one default appearance for each of the nine equipment collections. Those nine appearances are not random rewards. Four more entries—Assault Rifle Orange, Assault Rifle Blue, Boat Fire and Pistol Missing—have no normal slot-machine drop in the community snapshot. Do not spend spins trying to complete those four entries.

A long duplicate streak does not guarantee that the next spin is new or Legendary. Dazed Games has not published a guaranteed spin count. If you need more Drip creatures, the sprint-fishing guide covers cycling catches without claiming better variant odds.

Equip your reward and track the collection

Read the equipment name on the reward screen, hold that item and use Z or C to cycle its skins. A skin for one weapon does not appear on a different weapon. For a blank Reel display or a reward that will not show, use the skin-display troubleshooting steps.

Mark a skin after checking it in the game. The checklist saves in this browser and remains separate from Steam; it does not read or unlock your inventory. Reset filters changes only the view. Uncheck an entry to correct a collection mistake.

Skins or hats reset after restarting

Two September 12 community posts describe different symptoms: equipment skins look wooden after re-entering the game, and a selected character hat changes to the next option after a full restart. Neither post establishes that unlocks were erased, that Steam Cloud caused the change, or that Patch 1.0.12 introduced it.

Skin looks like Wood, but the unlocked appearance is still selectable

Hold the matching equipment and cycle its appearances with Z or C using the default controls. If the wanted skin remains available, reselect it; the visible reset alone does not mean you need to win it again. Note the equipment, selected skin, campaign and whether the change follows a return to the menu or a full game restart. Reselecting is a temporary action, not a confirmed persistence fix.

The skin is missing from the selection, or a hat keeps changing

If the skin is no longer in the matching equipment's cycle, preserve the complete local game-data folder before restoring anything. For a hat, use the character customization choices and record the selected option before and after restarting; weapon-skin controls do not diagnose a character hat. Do not delete a profile or replace a world save to fix either symptom. Cross-device changes need the separate skin synchronization checks.

Skins and the fish index are both gone

A September 15 player reports both collections disappearing on the main PC after a laptop session on the same Steam account, while the campaign, achievements and weapon upgrades remained. That differs from a wooden appearance that can still be switched back with Z/C. It is a community report, without a confirmed Cloud cause or recovery.

Check the matching equipment's skin cycle and the in-game Tab index separately, then close the game on both devices and preserve both complete local data folders. Follow the skins and fish loss checks before restoring anything. This catalog's browser checkmarks are independent of Steam and cannot recover game unlocks.

Do skins transfer between saves?

Community-documented behavior: unlocked skins are shared by saves using the same local game profile. The SaveBackups author describes skin unlocks as separate local data, outside each world save. Starting another world under that local profile therefore does not mean earning every appearance again.

A world-save backup and the skin-unlock collection are different things. SaveBackups snapshots do not include that separate unlock data, so rolling back one of its world snapshots does not also roll back the skin collection. Before moving or restoring files, preserve the complete local game-data folder.

Do skins sync to another PC or Steam Deck?

Dazed Games added save-file synchronization in Patch 1.0.12, but did not specify whether the separate skin profile is included. Same-profile sharing does not establish cross-device synchronization. Keep the original device's data and check the unlocked appearances on the destination before relying on a Steam Cloud transfer.
