How to Fish Next Update, New Islands and Postgame Guide

Check the confirmed How to Fish content-update status, understand the Island 6 patch reference and plan collection or challenge goals after the final boss.

Quick answer The Islet Update 1.1.0 shipped September 28, followed by 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 on September 29. The hotfixes improve bait guidance, Tench spawning and navigation; they are not a newly announced expansion or Island 6 release date.

What is the newest How to Fish update?

The Islet Update 1.1.0 released September 28, 2026. The official announcement calls it the first content update. It adds small islands, a weapon, creatures, a mini-boss, items, bait, an NPC, an outfit and achievements, while changing island spacing and some sound-effect volumes. Read the release summary.

After the content release, patches 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 added Fishipedia bait names after a first kill, repaired Tench spawning from the new bait, and improved the mini-island Radar dots. The September 30 plush announcement concerns merchandise, not a game-content patch or a purchase needed to unlock creatures. No later expansion date is supplied in the Steam announcements checked October 3.

Start with the new euro, bow and bottle tasks. Steam’s achievement list now has 31 entries. A completed 28-entry checklist from before this release is not the full current set, but the addition itself does not mean your save was lost.

Are the new islets the same as Island 6?

Several mini islands are officially confirmed in 1.1.0. The notes do not identify them as a numbered sixth main-campaign stage or publish universal coordinates. The existing five-stage route describes the campaign; it is not a count of all landmasses after this update.

The old Patch 1.0.10 reference to roulette on “Island 6” predates this release. It cannot establish the new islets’ unlock order or prove a new campaign chapter. Use the current objective, your unlocked navigation and identifiable landmarks rather than joining two unrelated descriptions into an invented map.

Island distances changed, so old travel-time instructions need caution. Keep your Radar and a known return route before exploring. For a missing Radar among similar-looking islets, preserve the working campaign before a reload test. The community report does not prove an infinite or repeating world topology.

What to do after the final boss

The following is an editorial checklist of existing wiki resources. It is not a promise of a new game mode, an automatic New Game Plus option or guaranteed transfer into a new world.

Finish the catches you actually need

The fish and lure tracker preserves 50 documented pre-Islet entries rather than the full new roster. For the reported Euro-section slot, check Fishipedia 61/62. Compare the in-game Fishipedia with the tracker, then make a short list by island and bait. Separate an ordinary missing creature from a missing Drip variant before starting a long farming session. The rare-variant guide explains the evidence behind community estimates and why a dry streak is not proof of a hidden requirement.

Choose a specific achievement or challenge

Use the achievement checklist to choose one goal rather than treating every remaining task as the same grind. The Bean one-hour planner and 360 no scope guide cover different kinds of practice. For community speedruns, read the category and version rules before comparing times; a dated record snapshot is not a live leaderboard.

Plan cosmetic collection separately

The skin checklist helps distinguish an unowned appearance from a duplicate. Read the Reel of Fortune guide before using a rare creature, and use the upgrade budget planner to keep optional spending separate from campaign needs.

Wiki checkmarks are browser tools, not a readout of your Steam save. They do not unlock achievements, merge progress between computers or prove that the game has recorded a catch. Check the game itself when a browser checklist and your save disagree.

Protect progress before returning or starting another run

Keep the working save and a separate backup before experimenting with mods, moving devices or testing a new run. Do not delete a completed world merely to see whether another save option appears.

Players returning from before Steam Cloud support should follow the existing-save upload guide on the device with the wanted progress first. For missing equipment or a campaign that will not load, use save troubleshooting rather than assuming a future patch will recover deleted data.

A boss kill that did not advance the quest is also a different problem from having finished the game. For example, Pufferfish meat without the quest trophy needs a hand-in and missing-item check before looking for more levels.

How to recognize a genuinely new release

  1. Check the source and date. Open Dazed Games' Steam announcement, not just a repost or an edited discussion.
  2. Separate a plan from a release. “Working on content” does not establish that a new island is playable.
  3. Match the build before testing. For co-op, check every player's update state before treating a version mismatch as a new gameplay bug.
  4. Look for the exact feature. Do not attach invented boss statistics, drops, prices or save-recovery guarantees to a general update message.

We will only date a future update when its release can be supported by a new source. The review date on this page describes this content check; it is not the game's patch date.
